Welcome! Deep Green Building & Remodeling cares about the future of our children and the earth. It is our desire to find new (and sometimes old) ways of building more efficiently while minimizing the the use of natural resources.We believe that we can make a difference by the choices we make in our construction projects, by careful selection of materials, to diverting construction waste to be recycled instead of to landfills. Green construction methods encompass a wide variety of techniques and beliefs. One such technique is natural building, which emphasizes the use of completely natural products such as straw, wood, cork, bamboo, clay or soil. These products have no chemicals and do not have VOC's(volatile organic compounds) which off-gas after construction. Another green construction method is to incorporate as many ways of recycling or reusing materials from another building or buying products with a high percentage of recycled content. Yet another technique includes building a structure that is super efficient, whether it makes use of super insulation, thermal mass, passive heating and cooling, or generating power through photovoltaics or wind turbines.Ideally, it would be wonderful to incorporate all the "green" techniques, but sometimes, it makes more sense to build more modestly, focusing on the design aspects which have the largest health impacts, water savings or energy savings.
